Activities

The Foundation has been rendering services for the welfare physically challenged and other weaker sections of the societies since its establishment. With an ambition of encouraging self employment initiative among the people with disability , a two weeks long in - house training course on cane and bamboo craft was organized by the Foundation at the premises of Blind Home , Takyel , Imphal in month of June 2006 .The Foundation initiated an Informal Four Weeks long Computer Orientation Programme for the Visually challenged persons in the month of October. The Foundation happened to observed the International Day of Persons with Disability on 3rd Dec. 2006, at its office premises on the theme of " Creating Productive Employment avenues for the persons with disability ". The Foundation celebrated the Birthday of Louis Braille at its Office Premises on 4th January , 2007 to remember his contribution left for the welfare of visually challenged people .The already established coaching institute of the foundation. E+MC2 was well developed with the greater enrollment of students with disability from this current year . The Foundation is also providing Coaching classes free of cost for them to get maximumknowledge of their respective academic category .The consultation cum- Programme on Disability was conducted at different places of Imphal West District of Manipur in month of Feb, 2007. Nearly 100 children with disability were counseled to bring them in the nearby special schools .

The Helen Keler's day was also observed on her birthday , 27th June in the same year by the Foundation to commemorate her activities contributed to the global society .The Foundation distributed 50 aids and apprehances to the visually challenged person being stationed at Mission Blind School , Chandel District of Manipur on 15th October,2007 to get their easy access in transportation and communication .

The Foundation organized a high school level open quiz competition on 3rd December ,2007 at the office premises of Social Welfare Association for the Blind Takyel , Imphal. A state level cultural festival for the people with disability was organized by the Foundation at the auditorium of Blind Home , Takyel , Imphal on 29th and 30th March , 2008 .

Foundation have conducted a month long counselling programme among the Parents of Children with Disability in Imphal West District of Manipur on the subject of " How to Adopt Them " . An Anti- Malaria Campaign was organized at D.PH.R English School, Khongman , Imphal East District , Manipur on 1st June 2008 under the sponsorship of State Malaria Society to Promote Eradication of the Disease , Malaria from the soil of Manipur. A month long Free Barrier Poster Campaign was aunched by State Social Welfare Cum Disability Commissioner , Government of India . The Foundation organized one Day Camp on Reproductive Child Health at Pangei Yumnam Khunou Area , Imphal EastDistrict. Under the sponsorship of District Health Mission Society , Imphal East to promote prevention and early detection of disabilities during prenatal , perinatal and postnatal stage . An Essay Writing Competition was organized on 27th October on the Theme " Disability and Role of Masses " . An Awareness Programme on Disability was conducted at Laphupat Tera High School .

The month long Free Barrier Poster Campaign was concluded on 17th November , 2008 and in this connection , a memorandum containing 11point demands was submitted to his excellency , Governor of Manipur .The Foundation Happened to observed the " Handicapped Welfare Month " from 3rd Dec. 2008 to 3rd January , 2009 On the theme " Raise Your Voice For Equality ". The opening ceremony was held at Manipur Press Club , Imphal. In the presence of Hon'ble MP, Dr.T. Meinya Singh as Chief guest and marked by a workshop on "Role of Print And Electronic Media To Bring Handicapped People in Social Mainstream ".

On the same day and at same venue, two experts presented a paper each in different topic in this workshop to bring the handicapped persons in social mainstream .On 8th December 2008 , Foundation Screened a Disability Related Documentary Film Depicting The Extraordinary Talents of Some Persons with Diability of Manipur at Kendriya Vidyalaya , Lamphelpat , Imphal West. The same Documentary Film was also screened at The Ideal Club Library complex , Tera Keithel, Imphal West and at HAO Ground Chingamathak Pisum Leirak. A Wheelchair and tricycle was gifted to Miss Chakpram Lokeshori Devi and R.K. Bobby. Both are now living with physical disability. A Cultural Programme on Dance and Music duly performed by the handicapped youths was also conducted at Imphal, to bring them in social mainstream. All the districts of the state had participated in the said cultural programme .
